Following are the top 10 values of our School. These values help to guide us and inspire us every day! We hope you will be inspired to find out more about Montessori and if you are in our area sign up for a tour.
1. Authentic Montessori for Our Times
We strive to ensure that the basic Montessori Principles are followed and integrated with today’s realities. By offering Parent Education for our families and focusing on the materials and philosophy, we are able to guide children and parents toward developing meaningful interactions in the digital age.
2. Diversity
Through the richness of diversity we find all the pieces to develop the Whole Child. By teaching empathy we are able to understand and accept each other and grow as a community. We learn to give without pretense, to love with abandon. We see the best of what we each have to offer. We, as teachers, model behavior and learn together.
3. Safe and Nurturing Environment
A safe environment includes emotion as well. Just as we show the children that there is no shame in failure, we accept that we as adults may try and fail too. In a safe and nurturing environment we are not judged or measured by our failures, but by our willingness to get up and try again, and give our best once more.
4. Respect
We seek to create a culture where we listen, speak and engage with all students, parents and staff lovingly, with warmth. We resolve conflicts peacefully, and serve one another whole heartedly. We endeavor to create an environment of peace and harmony.
5. Collaboration
We promote the ability to communicate with an attitude of grace and humility while recognizing our strengths and weaknesses. We work together with open hearts and minds to accomplish the school’s goals and objectives.
6. Individualism
We understand and respect that everyone is different and we endeavor to meet the needs of each person. Through questions, observation, self-reflection and engagement we develop meaningful relationships with all members of our community.
7. Potential for Growth and Education
The three year cycle allows us to nurture the child’s growth. Along with the strong academic curriculum, Montessori’s hidden curriculum encourages independent, life-long learners. Children, families and staff are able to form bonds that are built upon as the child’s education progresses. We consistently seek ways to enrich the child’s growth and the learning environment..
8. Compassionate Staff
At MWS, our staff are friendly, supportive and helpful; they will go the extra mile to assist children and their families. We strive to be flexible and accepting.
9. Professionalism
We conduct ourselves in a polite and humble manner. We use good judgment to apply the skills and Montessori principles in a way that will benefit our school community and the community at large.
10. Community
We work together as a team using our individual strengths to maximize our human potential and positively affect all members of our community.
