Summer Camp 2017


General Information:

Pre Primary Ages: 20 months to 3 years

Primary Ages: 3 years to 6 years

Days: Monday thru Friday

9:00 AM - Noon (Half Day Program) $160 per week

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Full Day Program) $190 per week

7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Extended Hours) $225 per week


Registration

To secure a place for your child, the Pre Primary Registration Form or Primary Registration Form and $50.00 registration fee must be returned to the main office. Please remember space is limited and is filled on a "first come, first served" basis. Pre-Primary and Primary camps -If you join all the camps, the seventh week is FREE! Cancellations must be made in writing two (2) weeks prior to your scheduled session. Timely cancellations entitle you to a return of 50% of those session's fees. Payments are due each Monday of the week your child is scheduled to attend. A confirmation letter will be sent to you.

Hey Ho! Off to London we Go!

Week 1 / June 12 - June 16

Join us as we learn about the capital of England. We will be making crafts and discovering all about Kings, Queens, Beefeaters and the London Transport system. And of course we'll have a tea party!

A World of Color

Week 2 / June 19 - 23

This week we will be experimenting with the primary, secondary and tertiary colors. We'll tie dye a t-shirt, create a color wheel and make a jigsaw puzzle showing the shades of our favorite color.

Animals and Nature Need Your Care !

Week 3 / June 26 - June 30

Campers will explore the animal kingdom and the various classifications of species. We will include our many unique school pets and find out how each of their needs differ and then we'll celebrate our animal friends with a stuffed animal party!

Fit and Fun

Week 5 / July 10 - 14

Being active is fun and so is fueling our bodies to be strong and healthy! This week we'll be active inside and outdoors and since we all love helping in the kitchen we'll make salads, smoothies and other healthy snacks to keep us going all week long.

Under the Sea

Week 6 / July 17 - 21

The sea is a fascinating place! Join us as we create an undersea environment filled with interesting creatures and find out what they eat, where they live and how they move. We'll be creating 3-D crafts to populate our ocean.

Making Sense of Our Senses

Week 7 / July 24 - July 28

We use our senses to explore our world! Join us as we conduct experiments that use all of our senses. We will focus on the sensory table as we physically explore both liquids and dry materials.

Biology for Everyone

Week 8 / July 31 - August 4

Budding biologists - this camp is for you! Let's take a closer look at the living organisms around us as we explore the world of plants and animals. We'll discover how they behave and how they interact. And of course we'll go on a bug hunt!

Forensic Science SUMMER CAMP 2017

Students from 1st through 6th grade

June 12th - August 4th, This year MWS is offering a variety of summer camps to keep your children active and learning during those long summer months. Research shows that students who participate in engaging activities and continue to enjoy high-interest books throughout the summer months avoid back peddling.

To secure a place for your child, return the Elementary Registration Form along with the $50 registration fee to the main office. Please remember space is limited and is filled on a "first come, first served" basis.


MASA (Math, Arts, Science Achievement Center)

1st through 6th grade June 20 - 24 and June 27 - July 1

Inquiry Science and Technology !

June 26 - June 30

Who put a dent in Susie's new car? Using the scientific process and the power of investigation we'll see if we can figure out who did it.

Who added a corrosive substance to our soda? We need your help to find out how and when a corrosive agent was added to our drink.


Forensic Earth Science

July 10-14

Someone stole Mr. Sullivan's money! Can we figure out who did it by looking at the ground? Join us as we learn how to test the soil and see what we can find out.

Who is polluting our water source? We'll need to put all our skills to work as we test the water to catch the culprit and save our water.


Forensic Life Science

July 17-21

Who vandalized the school? Help us find out who did it by analyzing the teeth marks we found.

It's a Robbery! It's time to look at the evidence. We'll check the fingerprints and DNA evidence to see if we can solve this crime.


Forensic Physical Science

July 24-28

Herman the hamster has been stolen! We'll study the footprints to see if we can get him back.

Who has been eating all the candy? We'll need to learn about chromatography to figure this one out!

July 31-Aug 4

It's time to use all of the investigative skills we've learned and solve this complicated crime! The sea is a fascinating place! Join us as we create an undersea environment filled with interesting creatures and find out what they eat, where they live and how they move. We'll be creating 3-D crafts to populate our ocean.

We'll get a little help from a professional forensic investigator who will drop by to give us some tips.
