Sherida Hew-Chaffin grew up in Suriname, South America. She speaks fluent Dutch and learn to speak English when she arrived in Miami, Florida in 1989. For the last six years, Sherida is living in Kissimmee.
She is the oldest of three children. Her brother Patrick is an optometrist. He and his family live in Suriname. Her sister Audrey and her family live in Miramar, Florida. Her mother lives in South Miami and is a retired E.S.E teacher. Sherida is the godmother of her nephew Yuric who is four years old.
Sherida has an Associate Degree from Miami Dade Community College. Two years ago she got the opportunity to be part of the Early Learning Coalition, in the Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Credential Training Program. She graduated and now has her CDA certificate.
In 2010, she started to work in an infant room as a teacher assistant. She loved being with the babies, because she enjoyed their smiles and happy faces. She enjoyed reading and singing to them. They gave her so much joy as she watched them.
