Mrs. Marcella Massaro-Scarfo was born in Connecticut to Italian Immigrants from Naples, Italy. Marcella grew up in a traditional Italian household that valued and maintained their culture, heritage and customs. She lost her mother at a young age and with the help of her aunts took over the primary care of the household and her baby brother. It was during this time that Marcella developed a strong sense of responsibility, a commitment to family and passion for childcare.
After finishing high school, Marcella went on to study beauty and fashion. As the years progressed her education culminated in the opening of her own salon and style consulting business.
In 2000, Marcella married John Scarfo and started a family. It was after the birth of her first son Marcello that she realized how much she missed caring for children and decided to stay home full time to care for her son. During this period, Marcella completed her Associates degree in General Studies and is continuing to pursue her Bachelors Degree in Foreign Languages.
Marcella and her family relocated to Orlando in 2014 with the addition of a second son Gianluca. She decided she wanted to work in childcare and became fascinated with the work of Dr. Maria Montessori and set her mind to a career in this educational system.
Marcella is very excited to join Mrs. Lutz and Mrs. Taylor in the Sunflower room for the 2016/2017 school years.
